There is Enoshima Bridge
This bridge connects Enoshima with the mainland of Fujisawa City.
The bridge is 389 meters long.
These two bridges have been selected as one of the "100 Best Bridges of Kanagawa".
There are two rows of bridges.
A. The eastern bridge is built for automobiles and is called Enoshima Ohashi Bridge.
B. The western bridge is built for pedestrians and is called Enoshima Benten Bridge.
These two bridges together are called Enoshima Ohashi Bridge.
The two bridges have been selected as one of the "100 Best Bridges in Kanagawa."
There is a stone lantern at the entrance to the bridge.
A dragon related to Enoshima Shrine is carved on it.
"Enoshima Shrine" is said to be related to "the dragon god".
The story goes that Gozuryu(a five-headed dragon), who had been causing trouble, stopped being evil after falling in love with a celestial Tennyo(heavenly maiden) and married her.
It is said that
Ⓐthe heavenlyl maiden is Benzaiten, who is enshrined at ”Enoshima Shrine ”.
ⒷThe five-headed dragon is also enshrined at” Ryukomyojin Shrine ”in Koshizuka .
Therefore, it is said that visiting both Ⓐ"Ryukomyojin Shrine", which enshrines the five-headed dragon , and Ⓑ" the Benten-do Hall of Enoshima Shrine", which enshrines the heavenly maiden (Benten-do), will bring you good fortune .
The boarding point is near the entrance to the bridge. It takes about 6 minutes to get to Enoshima Chigogafuchi (in front of the cave at the very back of Enoshima).
